What is Utlherapy?

Ultherapy is a skin lifting treatment done with the machine Ulthera by trained physicians. It uses time tested ultrasound energy to lift and tighten the skin naturally without surgery. It is not just a normal ultrasound machine but a machine that focuses the energy into a many tiny dots under different depths of the skin, creating many thermal coagulation points (TCP) under the skin without disrupting the skin’s surface. It is with these TCP points, new collagen is produced around these points creating natural lifting effect.

Does Ultherapy really work? It is quite expensive.

Ultherapy has multiple submissions with US FDA to guarantee its efficacy. US FDA has confirmed that this treatment works to lift and tighten the skin with only ONE (1) treatment.

Furthermore, the lifting effects have been established through clinical studies and over 1 million treatments performed worldwide.

Many machines claim to do lifting but only Ultherapy delivers optimal temperature (70C) for skin to produce new collagen that gives you optimal lifting. Hence one Ultherapy treatment is enough to give you a facelift.

Is Ultherapy safe since it delivers quite a high temperature?

Ultherapy has been in the market since 2009. Till now, more than 1,000,000 procedures have been performed worldwide. No permanent complications have been reported.

To ensure very precise deliver of the TCP (treatment shots) to the depth under the skin, Ultherapy has DEEPsee technology to allow physician to have a live visualisation of structure under the skin (up to 8mm) during treatment.

Hence, physician can deliver the treatment shots safely without injuring the bone, blood vessels and muscles.

How long is the procedure? The procedure takes about 30 minutes to 120 minutes to performed depending on the number of areas targeted. It is a procedure performed by doctor at RJ CLINIC. Doctors at RJ CLINIC will design the shape and lift we want to achieve and deliver the shots precisely to the areas pre-planned. Using the DEEPsee mode, simultaneously we ensure the correct treatment depth and safety.

Is it painful?

There will be some sensation felt during the delivery of "treatment dots". The sensation is often described as an itch. The sensation confirms the correct and effective delivery of the "treatment shots". Our clients can opt to be sedated if they feel uncomfortable with the feeling. In these rare instances, they must fast for 6 hrs prior to the sedation.

How is Ultherapy different from other skin tightening devices eg: RF?

Ultherapy delivers "treatment dots" specifically to the targeted layers mimicking to a certain degree a surgical face lift. Furthermore, it induces collagen formation by increasing the number of elastin fibers. Other devices use various energy to "heat up" the skin "blindly".

The biggest difference is at RJ CLINIC, our doctors have done so many Ultherapy treatments, we know how to achieve the best results with Ultherapy.

Also, only ONE (1) Ultherapy treatment is needed to achieve a lifting result that will last for 1 year. However, during follow ups, the results are still there after 2 years.

Other machines eg: RF amchines deliver sub-optimal collagen stimulation and requires repetitive treatments every few weeks and that translates into higher treatment cost.

Will anyone know I have done something to my face?

Our doctors at RJ CLINIC normally performs procedure putting patient’s privacy in consideration. Hence, Ultherapy is one of those treatments that does not give any kind of redness, or skin damage after the treatment as it bypasses the surface of the skin.

Gradually, the new collagen starts to form in 2 weeks to a maximum level of 4 months and gives you the gradual lifting every day.

Nobody, including your husband, will see any redness or swelling immediately after the treatment. But, everyone will see the lifting effect starting from 2 weeks.

Is Our Ultherapy Authentic?

Yes, you are right, there are pirated or fake machines out in the market. RJ Clinic has been a close partner of MERZ Aesthetics (the company behind Ultherapy) since its inception in Malaysia.
